PEI Kids Launches New Website Features Richer Content for Community, Educators, Parents & Caregivers

May 13, 2013–LAWRENCE, N.J.—PEI Kids has launched its website (www.peikids.org) with a completely new design and structure. Visitors will find the new, user-friendly format not only more attractive but much more informative to community, educators, parents and caregivers. PEI Kids is a child advocacy, nonprofit based in Lawrence, NJ.

The PEI Kids’ homepage welcomes visitors with a clean, concise design, scrolling images and relevant statistics with featured content focuses on PEI Kids’ aspiration for the children and youth of Mercer County of “Safe Kids, Sound Futures.”

By moving to a more user-centric layout, we are enabling all visitors to more easily access information based on their specific preference, as opposed to sorting through the entire site to decide what is of interest to them, said PEI Kids’ Executive Director, Penny Ettinger.

“This redesigned site offers new social media and Donate buttons, new content inspired by our shared experiences and knowledge, and desire to help the children and families of our community,” Ettinger added.

For visitors, the easy-to-navigate site includes:

• The What We Do section describes PEI Kids’ various programs and curricula. Visit this section to learn more about PEI Kids’ Workshops and Support Groups and to view our Calendar, which includes all our activities and events.

• The What You Need to Know section offers a variety of resources and tips for community partners, educators and parents and caregivers, as well as a step-by-step guide from the N.J. Department of Children & Families on How to Report Child Abuse in both English & Spanish.

• The Brochures and Flyers page includes publications in English & Spanish to better support our Spanish-speaking visitors.
• The Get Involved section offers visitors information about volunteering opportunities, financial and in-kind contributions to PEI Kids. The Financial Contribution page guides prospective donors and sponsors through the donation and sponsorship process.

The site also showcases the Enough Abuse Campaign video and one of PEI Kids’ newest initiatives, the Greater Mercer Coalition to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse.

The PEI Kids’ site, which was designed and built by Curotec, will be updated on a regular basis, with news of events, workshops, and other helpful resources. If you experience any problems using the new website or if you have any suggestions for future updates, please contact Ester Rodriguez at erodriguez@peikids.org or call (609) 695-3739 Ext. 16.

About PEI Kids
PEI Kids’ aspiration for the children of Mercer County, NJ, is “Safe Kids, Sound Futures.” Currently serving approximately 16,000 children and their families each year, the nonprofit organization began in 1985 when, while working at a rape crisis center, its founders discovered there were no local services tailored for children who had been sexually abused. For the past 28 years, its mission has been dedicated to promoting and maintaining a safe environment for all children. Its services have expanded to include engaging, developmentally appropriate and culturally diverse Prevention/Education and Intervention programs relating to personal safety; physical and sexual abuse; understanding physical and educational differences; school safety and bullying; anger management; gang prevention; and the overall well-being of the child and family.
